Minimally invasive bunion correction - November 2022
The patient, 37 years old, suffered from a significant deformity of the big toes on both feet, which caused pain when walking and aesthetic discomfort. In November, she underwent a minimally invasive correction of the bunion on her left foot.
Preoperative status:
Photo: The patient wanted surgery on her left foot first.
Video: Footage of gait showing deformity of the toes during movement before surgery.
Postoperative condition:
X-ray: the operation was performed minimally invasively through skin punctures. The toe bone was placed in a new position and secured with three screws entirely inside the bone. The screws are not felt, there is no need to remove them, and the bone heals itself in the new position.
Photos (8 weeks after surgery):
The toe is corrected to the correct position and the foot takes its natural shape.
The pain when walking subsides.
There are still small scars on the leg from the surgical injections, which are gradually fading.
This procedure relieved the patient from her discomfort and improved the aesthetic appearance of her leg.
